FREE GUIDED GALLERY TOUR AT 6:30 p.m.
The free Artwalk Tour includes about a one hour sample of the diverse art scene in San Pedro – with a different itinerary each month, visiting artists in their studios and galleries. The tour leaves at 6:30 from the Chamber of Commerce Board Room Gallery. This month Angels Gate Cultural Center, in collaboration with the San Pedro Chamber of Commerce, presents the continuing Boardroom Gallery exhibition of studio artist Joyce Weiss, “At Full Volume”. Her work is imaginative and expertly created, with bright colors used at full volume.
The tour’s first stop will be at the Menduina Schneider Art Gallery on 7th. They are hosting the “Emergent Latin Masters Project”. A project created by Mexican Curator Naty Medina, showcasing works by more than 20 artists from Costa Rica, Chile, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay.
Then we head over to 6th Street where, in partnership with Machine Art Studio, ViCA opens “Wall to Wall” a street art exhibition at their gallery, featuring MegZany,Tanner Goldbeck and other artists to be announced. Partnering with us is Venice Modern Art as we bring Jean Michel Basquiat to San Pedro for the first time. In live, collaborative monoprint-making events we will feature the artists in the show and special guests creating new original works of art on a special limited edition print of “The Offs” (1984), by master printmaker Mike Machin, owner of Machine Art Studio.
And Downtown Books and Art are having a Grand Opening featuring the work of Conrad Buff. Remembered as a prominent painter throughout the 20th century in California, Conrad Buff’s works defied one dominant style. Blending elements of California Impressionism with Modernist structure and composition, the artist created striking imagery that was unconstrained by the conventions of his time.
Each month the Artwalk tour starts at 6:30, meeting at the San Pedro Chamber of Commerce, 390 W. 7th Street. Contact FirstthursdaySPtour@gmail.com to receive monthly Artwalk Tour information by email.

MICHAEL STEARNS STUDIO @ THE 4TH STREET LOFTS
401 South Mesa Street
Michael Stearns Studio @The Loft is pleased to present Farewell, a mixed media exhibition by Ben Zask and Peggy Silvert.
The exhibition features works on paper and assemblage. Silvert uses imagery of powerful horses in action, attempting to depict the grace & beauty of the form and to capture its distinct energy while seeking to understand parallels of the horse to our evolving civilization. Ben Zask’s assemblages of unrefined recycled material, installed in three separate cubicles, asks the viewer to contemplate war, music and climate crisis.
“What is good art? We go into our studios with the despair of knowing that our environment and democracy are in crisis. This knowledge seeps into our conscience and filters into our artwork. Our intention is to create contemporary artwork and if it’s on the dismal side – – it’s almost impossible to hide.”
Artist’s Reception: November 10th, 2 to 5 p.m” Linda Grimes
