“JANUARY 3, FIRST THURSDAY ARTWALK IN SAN PEDRO
FREE GUIDED GALLERY TOUR AT 6:30 p.m.

The free Artwalk Tour usually gives a one hour sample of the diverse art scene in San Pedro,– a different itinerary each month, visiting artists in their studios and galleries. The tour leaves at 6:30 from the Chamber of Commerce Board Room Gallery, 7th & Mesa. The show curated by Angels Gate Cultural Center continues – an installation of studio artist Leah Stone Dixon’s digital paintings.

Our first stop will be at the Back Door Studios. Six artists work and live in these studios, which were built as artist live/work spaces.

Then we’ll visit the gallery of Pat Woolley and Gloria Lee. Pat Woolley works in watercolors, acrylic and mixed media. Her work can be found in collections around the world. Traveling to France every year (where she lives part time) gives her much of the material she uses in her paintings. A sketch book is always in her purse, for quick notes and sketches of interesting subjects.
Gloria Lee’s statement begins: “Bringing chaos to order and uniting all the fragments together to make a whole drives me to create. My creative process begins directly or indirectly by building a foundation or background for the final work of art. As more layers are intuitively applied, new ideas and images are created, resulting in a serendipitous final result.”

After the tour, you have plenty of time to enjoy a meal or glass of wine with entertainment at one of the many of the popular independent restaurants in San Pedro, and explore other art venues on your own.

Each month the Artwalk tour starts at 6:30, meeting at the San Pedro Chamber of Commerce, 390 W. 7th Street. Contact FirstthursdaySPtour@gmail.com to receive monthly Artwalk Tour information by email.” Pat Carroll

The San Pedro Photographer’s Association New Years Exhibition will be held at Mary Mount Gallery on 430 W. 6th Street hosted by Lisa Medina-Guthman.
